worship ministry

The purpose of the Worship Ministry is to use music and song to provide an environment for people to glorify God and experience life transformation. Every week, thousands of people come together here to enter into His divine presence through thanksgiving, praise and worship.

Accomplishing this requires a large group of people who use their gifts and talents to serve God and minister to the hearts of His people. We would love to have you get involved. If you play an instrument, sing, or dance, we invite you to consider joining our worship family. Our Tech Team is always looking for camera techs, photographers, operators, producers and more. We would love to have you serve with us as we worship God through Music, Arts, and Technology. If you are interested in being a part of our team, please contact us today!

Vocal music

The worship choir is an important part of the team. They sing "specials" on occasion, but their primary purpose is to lead worship from their heart. The only requirement for joining the choir is a love of music and singing. Worship Choir is open to High School students and older. There are no auditions. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in the auditorium.

Some singers use handheld microphones to give extra vocal support to the music. These singers must be able to sing their part confidently and inspire people to join them in worship. Praise singers must meet with the worship pastor for an interview and evaluation.

Our Student Worship Team is an opportunity for 6th-12th graders to sing and make music together. They meet on Sunday afternoons in the Student Center at 5pm.

Graded children's choirs meet to develop musical skills and appreciation as well as the biblical basis for worship. While performing is not the focus, the children do sing in worship and also present a dramatic musical once a year.

instrumental music & tech

The praise band leads worship at the 10:45 am service. The band has a guitar-driven sound and consists of musicians who play on a rotating schedule. An interview and evaluation with the worship pastor is required.

Orchestra Brass, woodwinds, and string players join us in leading worship on special occassions. The orchestra is open to high school students through adults who have competent ability. Music charts are available each month online. Players are responsible for preparing independently and attending one rehearsal the week of the schedule service.

Our tech ministry is a valuable group at Calvary. This ministry is for those who prefer to serve behind the scenes. Opportunities are available for those interested in sound, lighting, video production and presentation media.
